Se empez\u00f3 a representar en 1993, a\u00f1o en el que se recuper\u00f3 para el Carnaval el\u00a0Entierro de la Sardina. Gracias a la iniciativa del artista g\u00fcimarero\u00a0Javier Eloy Campos\u00a0el acto se inspir\u00f3 en las leyendas de brujer\u00eda que formaban parte de la tradici\u00f3n oral de la zona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El\u00a0Menceyato de G\u00fc\u00edmar\u00a0fue una zona muy rica en\u00a0bailaderos<\/a>. Uno de los m\u00e1s conocidos es el de los altos del\u00a0Escobonal. Los\u00a0bailaderos\u00a0eran lugares donde los abor\u00edgenes se reun\u00edan y que tras las conquista castellana fueron vinculados a las brujas por la Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica para desacreditar a las sacerdotisas\u00a0guanches<\/a>. Aquellas supercher\u00edas sobre actos terribles calaron en la poblaci\u00f3n y su eco ha llegado hasta nuestros d\u00edas mezcl\u00e1ndose con mitos y leyendas. Una de esas leyendas dec\u00eda que las brujas se convert\u00edan en burras para pasar desapercibidas entre los vecinos y as\u00ed poder hechizarles para robarles sus cosechas y propiedades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con este material, los j\u00f3venes de\u00a0G\u00fc\u00edmar\u00a0bajo la\u00a0Asociaci\u00f3n Cultural de Las Burras de G\u00fc\u00edmar<\/em><\/a>\u00a0han plasmado en un espect\u00e1culo m\u00e1gico todos aquellos terrores. Ellos mismos se encargan de actuar y de la confecci\u00f3n de los vistosos disfraces y m\u00e1scaras en los que prima el reciclaje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Representaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

La representaci\u00f3n de Las Burras<\/strong> se lleva a cabo por la noche para dar m\u00e1s vistosidad a los seres malignos que son convocados. El acto empieza con la procesi\u00f3n del Entierro de la Sardina<\/strong> en compa\u00f1\u00eda de viudas y campesinos compungidos por la p\u00e9rdida. Durante el recorrido unas mujeres extra\u00f1as los observan con sigilo. Son las brujas<\/strong>.Cuando la comitiva f\u00fanebre pasa por delante de ellas se transforman en burras para disimular sus intenciones. Pero no tardan el levantar sospechas y al llegar a la plaza son increpadas y pinchadas con cuchillos para comprobar si son burras o por el contrario, se trata de aut\u00e9nticas hechiceras. A las brujas nos les queda otra que invocar al demonio. Junto al mism\u00edsimo Satan\u00e1s<\/strong> aparecen un mont\u00f3n de diablillos y Baul\u00e9n<\/strong>, una antigua arist\u00f3crata. Es la hora del aquelarre<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighbors of the municipality of Guimar represent the Burras De Guimar, a typical fight between good and evil, light and darkness, in Guimar, Canary Island of Tenerife, February 24, 2023.\r\r\rThe first time I heard about Las Burras de G\u00fc\u00edmar I thought it was an ancient tradition but it is actually quite recent. It began to be represented in 1993, the year in which the Burial of the Sardine was recovered for Carnival. They themselves are in charge of acting and making the colorful costumes and masks in which recycling prevails.\r\rThe representation of Las Burras is carried out at night to give more showiness to the evil beings that are summoned. The act begins with the procession of the Burial of the Sardine in the company of widows and peasants sorry for the loss. During the tour, some strange women watch them stealthily. They are the witches. When the funeral procession passes in front of them, they transform into donkeys to hide their intentions. But they do not take long to arouse suspicion and when they arrive at the square they are scolded and pricked with knives to ve<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
